Steve Chang, Chairman
Steve Chang is a dentist from Monterey, CA and serves as the President of the Palau Adventist Wellness Center, a clinic he started on the Micronesian island of Palau in 2015 to serve the dental needs of the residents on the island. In the spring of 2024, Steve was the first to introduce pickleball to this island in Micronesia. Steve wears many hats and is the CEO of Innovations To You since 2001 and the Founder and President of Do All Things in Love, Inc since 2015. He also serves as the Director/Consultant for Holland America Cruiseline. Steve has served on many boards, some of which include- Adventist Medical Evangelism Network, ARMe Bible Camp, and Advocates for Southeast Asians and the Persecuted.
Steve has had the privilege of traveling and working in over 120 countries including: Lebanon, Indonesia, Mongolia, Kenya, Egypt, Tonga, Fiji, Vietnam, Japan, Galagos, Bolivia, Belize, Germany, Philippines, to name just a few. On many of these trips, he is leading and/or participating in medical/dental humanitarian mission trips to serve the needs of the indigent. He travels extensively speaking on various topics ranging from mental, physical, and spiritual health, to creation vs evolution. In addition to Steve’s passion for evangelism and mission service, on his free time, Steve loves to play soccer, scuba dive, paraglide and play pickleball of course!

Charis Kim, President
Charis is currently studying at CA State University Sacramento pursuing a degree in Allied Health. She loves animals and is registered with the SPCA and serves as a foster volunteer for orphaned animals. Charis enjoys spending time with children and serves at her local church as the primary class teacher.
Charis has always been passionate about health and fitness. In her free time, you will usually find her in the gym working out. Today, her favorite go-to sport is pickleball and she finds joy in drilling and connecting with the Pickleball community. Charis feels that pickleball is way too much fun to keep to herself. Hence the impetus to start Pickleball Joy and spread the joy, fun, and blessings of pickleball with the world!
Calvin Kim, Vice President
Calvin Kim is a dentist from Olympia, WA and the co-founder of F5 Challenge and ARME Bible Camp. He currently serves as ASI Vice President for Evangelism. He is an IRONMAN triathlete, Boston marathoner, rock/mountain climber, mountain biker, skier/snowboarder, and loves all things outdoors. However, once he discovered the joy of pickleball, he is taking an indefinite hiatus from all of the other activities that he enjoyed. He is just having too much fun playing pickleball. Calvin is passionate about inspiring others to live their best lives and is excited about the mission of PBJ!

David Koh, Treasurer
David Koh, a University of Pennsylvania alumnus with a background in Wall Street and Silicon Valley, now channels his competitive drive into pickleball as the Treasurer of Pickleball Joy. Having swapped spreadsheets for paddles, he’s swiftly advancing through the ranks, with a goal of reaching a 5.0 DUPR rating. A devoted fan of Ben Johns, Koh holds the overhead lob in high regard, considering it one of the game’s most underrated shots.
Ray Sample, Secretary
Ray has been helping buyers and sellers accomplish their dreams since 2017 as a realtor and licensed General Contractor. Before joining Windermere, Ray dedicated 20 years to shaping young minds as an elementary school teacher. His teaching career allowed him to witness the profound impact of guiding students to overcome challenges and succeed in their pursuits. An avid outdoor enthusiast, Ray has always embraced physical fitness as a cornerstone of his life. From participating in local intramural leagues and hitting the slopes to serving as a referee for local games and volunteering on overseas mission trips, Ray’s love for staying active is evident in all he does. Ray’s enthusiasm for pickleball quickly grew into a passion, leading him to introduce the sport to Lewis County Adventist School in Chehalis, WA, where he taught for 16 years. His dedication to the game and his commitment to making a difference in others’ lives made him a natural choice as a board member for Pickleball Joy.

Ernie Medina
Ernie Medina, Jr. has a Doctorate in Public Health, focusing on preventive care and lifestyle medicine, and has been on the faculty of Loma Linda University since 2015. Prior to that, Ernie spent 21 years in a medical group focusing on lifestyle-related diseases. Ernie started playing pickleball in 2016 and was introduced to the sport by his mom. He is a USA Pickleball Board of Directors member, a USAP Ambassador for Loma Linda, CA and a PPR- certified coach. Ernie teaches pickleball as an adjunct professor at LaSierra University and Crafton Hills College and is the Tournament Director for the LLUH Homecoming Pickleball tournament and Halo Halo Cup tournament.
Lucile Saint Martin
Lucile Saint Martin is a pickleball convert from tennis for about 4 years now. She enjoys the social aspect as well as the wide range of competition. It gives her great joy to serve with a team of players that have the same vision. She hopes to meet you out there on the courts.

Peter Lingas
Pete Lingas is a sports physical therapist and clinic owner based in Redlands, California. An enthusiastic pickleball player, Pete is passionate about teaching the sport and spreading its joy. Beyond his professional and athletic pursuits, he is deeply committed to small group Bible study, community outreach, and ministries that emphasize building genuine relationships.
